Remember Kendayl & Mike’s engagement post?
Well they are knee deep in planning and I love being a part of it. Two weekends ago I got this little present from Kendayl while I was visiting them in Richmond.
Isn’t that an adorable idea? I was so honored and thrilled to be asked to be a part of this wedding. So of course I asked Kendayl a million and two questions and she was just as excited to answer them. We had a little skype date for Kendayl to ask Katlyn (the third musketeer) and she said yes!!
Now the three of us can’t stop pinning and emailing about Miss Kendayl’s wedding!! Here are a few images to help you get the theme of this GORGEOUS wedding!!
Love you Kendayl!!

I wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone who came out this morning to support the art show and bake sale. We had a GREAT turn out and met some really awesome people. Thanks for having us, Fairmount Christian Church!
I announced over a week ago that I opened my Etsy store but I didn’t have any listings at the time. I am slowly but surely adding new things to my store. So far I have four listings and plan to add some invitations and greeting cards. Please stop by my store and see what I have to offer. Thanks for always supporting me!
Well folks, it’s that time of year for craft shows and shopping bazaars. I had a craft show last weekend and I will be at another one this Saturday. I still have some netted frames that you could use for jewelry or as a bulletin board, dry erase boards, greeting cards and I am accepting invitation orders.

I hope to see you there!!
I will be at a local craft show this Saturday, April 21st with some greeting cards, dry erase boards, netted frames for jewelry and accepting invitation orders!! Here are the details if you are in the area and would like to come check out some local artists and bakers.
My sister will also be there selling Mary Kay products if any of you are in need of some make-up/skin care products. There will be other vendors such as Thirty One bags, Scentsy, Homemade Doggie treats and handmade wreaths. While shopping you can help a good cause: Friends of L’Arche Central Virginia, a faith-based group for persons with intellectual disabilities and their families which hopes to build one or more group homes in the Richmond area in the near future. Coffee and donuts will be available in the morning and hotdogs in the afternoon. Hope to see you there!
My very fun announcement is
I don’t have any listings yet, but it’s coming soon! I am so excited to take a step into the etsy world.
If you have never heard of etsy, check it out!!
I will update the blog with items I post so you avid blog readers can stay in the loop.
Thanks for your support
As I was sitting at Emily’s apartment I was looking around getting a mental picture of what I wanted to change. In her apartment you can see the back of the cabinet’s right as you walk in. See what I mean…
Emily and I talked about the idea of putting three canvases side by side up there to make it prettier. We thought maybe we would cover the canvases in fabric, but Emily loves the Chevron pattern, as do I. We planned to paint canvases with our friend Dandi last Saturday night, but we were all too tired and had a long day ahead of us with Emily’s Apartment Makeover on Sunday.
Emily left for Disney on Sunday night and since we hadn’t done this project I took it upon myself to finish it. Here’s the process…
What you will need:
acrylic paint ($0.99 at your local craft store)
3 canvases
sponge paintbrush
pencil
cardboard (I used a manila folder)
First, make the stencil. Trace the chevron pattern onto the cardboard and then cut it out.
Then start tracing the pattern onto the canvas using a pencil (try not to press too hard for lighter lines)
Then grab a paper plate, sponge brush and paint and get to painting!
This yummy pear hard cider from Philadelphia helped me through the painting process. Yes, I put ice in my cider, don’t judge
This is one coat of paint (very see through).
And here are all the canvases after two coats of paint.
They aren’t perfect, but that’s what is so fun about handmade projects. Now I just need to sneak them into Emily’s apartment before she gets home
I will be back tomorrow with a fun announcement!!
Remember Bailee?
Well Miss Bailee is about to turn One! My does time fly so fast. Bailee is the most calm baby I have ever been around; I don’t think I have ever heard her cry. She is always ALL smiles, just like her Momma.
Here are her First Birthday Invitations!
For Emily’s Birthday I offered up my time and labor to help make her apartment super cute! She had bought quite a few things but was just unsure where to put everything. We woke up early yesterday, met each other at Starbucks and then headed to her apartment.
Keep in mind, I’m not Sherry from Young House Love, but I do think i’m a little handy, a lot crafty and very inspired. I am a firm believer that a little decor goes a long way!
Emily wanted a frame like I made for my earrings, so this is the one I made for her…
This is the main room in her apartment before (plus Miss Foxy)…
And here is the after…
What we did:
1. Hung curtains higher so they didn’t drag on the ground
2. Added accent pillows
3. Bought a gold & white bowl from Home Goods for $14.99 and filled it with decorative balls, also for Home Goods for $9.99
4. Hung dresser mirror over the couch
5. Laid rug under couch
6. Changed direction of the coffee table
Pillows:
Mirror:
Next is the dining room. This is not completely done because 1. the table is changing and 2. we need to hang another shelf but the hardware was left out of the box
This is the centerpiece I made for the table out of fake flowers from Hobby Lobby ($5.99 each but they were 50% off on Friday for $3 each), natural colored stones from Hobby Lobby for $2.99 and a clear vase I already had.
The shelf we hung (we have another)
What do you think? Pretty good for two twenty-somethings on a budget!
Stay tuned for Part Two with her vanity and her kitchen!
